Telus of Burnaby, British Columbia, has decided to withdraw its $4-million Telus Mobility account from Highwood Communications and transfer it to Toronto, Ontario-based Taxi Advertising and Design. The move was influenced by Telus' acquisition of Clearnet Communications, which employs Taxi as its agency of record. Meanwhile, in its latest internal restructuring, the company is becoming more marketing driven and far less focused on products and services.

The tournament's previous sponsor, RJR's Export A, stepped down due to Canada's tobacco legislation.
