Parting without too much pain

Article Abstract:

The dissolution of a business partnership can create problems which need to be handled carefully. Partners who have loans in joint names, for example, should consider obtaining replacement loans as the lender could demand payment from either one of the orignal names. Decisions about which partner should retain which clients are also problematic and may necessitate compensation arrangements. The Partnership Act 1890 addresses any areas not included in a partnership deed. Any special arrangements in the dissolution should be incorporated in a partnership dissolution agreement.

Too much hot air

Article Abstract:

The risk of global warming brought on by fossil fuel consumption should neither be ignored nor overstated. Costly remedies should not be imposed, but such reforms as the removal of subsidies for greenhouse gas production and use definitely merit strong consideration.
