Pension funds of the United States have recently started to invest in the currency market to boost their returns. Traditionally, pension funds have invested in stocks and bonds and are the biggest investors in the securities market. Currency market investment by pension funds is a new trend.

Shell pension plan mulls a move with hedge funds

The primary UK pension plan of Royal Dutch Shell PLC may launch an investment in hedge funds, after seeking clarification regarding tax policy from Revenue and Customs. The pension plan, one of the largest in the UK, has approximately $25 bil in assets.
