Pinault signs Bouygues shareholder pact

Article Abstract:

Bouygues S.A. Chairman Martin Bouygues has signed a 3-year standstill pact with Francois Pinault, temporarily halting speculations about a takeover of the French construction-to-communications firm. Under the agreement, Pinault's Artemis S.A. and Martin and Oliver Bouygues will pool their shares in the conglomerate, vote together, and have the right of first refusal on each other's shares. The Bouygues brothers and Pinault holdings in the conglomerate will be kept below 33% to avoid triggering a French law requiring a full takeover bid.
