Planning and house building: A step change from the bottom up?

Article Abstract:

The findings of 11 local case studies are reported to demonstrate how a range of local practice and initiatives guiding new housing development are addressing the need for greater speed and efficiency, the lack of inclusive planning and decision making, the failure to integrate policy areas, the lack of creativity and transparency in policy and its implementations. It aims to highlight how some authorities have already embarked on a step change and to argue that these local lessons should be built on during attempts to reinvigorate the planning system.
