Playing the waiting game

Article Abstract:

Companies that become the target of a merger or acquisition bid should seek to benefit from the fact that they are clearly wanted by the potential purchaser or merger partner. It is important to be seen to be proactive in preparing for the changes which will inevitably follow a merger or acquisition. Attempts must be made to retain staff, but it is not wise to deny that redundancies will take place, as downsizing is a very common consequence of a change of ownership.

The importance of being earnest

Article Abstract:

Many merger and acquisition transactions often overlook the condition and value of property assets. However, a full property audit of the target company can fundamentally change the nature of the deal. Property is often forgotten until the contract has been drawn up and due diligence takes place, but an early analysis of the target company's real property assets may improve investment returns and save long-term costs.
