The widow of Pakistani military leader Asif Nawaz, who suffered a fatal cardiac arrest in Jan 1993, claims that her husband was in fact poisoned. The accusations of foul play implicate key figures in Nawaz Sharif's government, including intelligence chief Imtiaz Ahmad.

Rough justice: Pakistan

Pakistan's prime minister Nawaz Sharif and President Ghulam Ishaq Khan have declared that automatic bail for prisoners not convicted after two years does not apply to prisoners they deem to be terrorists. This includes the husband of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.

Sinful Sind: Pakistan

Article Abstract:

The Pakistani province of Sind has more crime and social and ethnic turmoil than any other area in the country. Part of the reason is that it is still a strong base of support for the deposed Pakistan People's Party of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
