Poland: Bidders for Warsaw airport project

Article Abstract:

Roland Jurecka, director of Strabag, says that the Austrian construction company, Hochtief and Ferrovial have been short-listed for the expansion of Warsaw airport. The three are to submit concrete offers by mid-October 2001. Originally 9 bidders had been seeking the contract. The project involves the construction of a second terminal and the expansion of the departures hall. According to Jurecka, it is worth a "few thousand million schillings". Strabag is proposing a private-public partnership for the financing of the project.
