The United Autoworkers Union seems more willing to negotiate plant-by-plant labor contracts with the big US corporations since US market share is threatened by cost-efficient Japanese production. General Motors Corp's recent agreements with the union show promise.

Article Abstract:

Ford Motor Co will try to try to duplicate the success Japanese companies have had selling their cars abroad with the introduction of the Mondeo in Mar 1993. Ford's fortunes in Europe have declined recently after years of being very successful.
