Prada's strong sales, profits may boost its IPO potential

First-half operating profit for Italian apparel brand Prada S.p.A. rose 40% to reach $197.3 mil, driven by an 18% rise in sales. Net profit was not reported. It is expected that such growth will draw interest in the firm, and whether Prada decides to list is likely to influence other clothing brands.
