Private investment and environmental protection: Alcoa-Kofem's strategy in Hungary

Article Abstract:

The cost of environmental clean up and protection in Central and eastern European will be huge, but governments and international organizations do not have adequate resources to raise standards to international level. Domestic and foreign private investment will play an important part and the experience of Aluminium Company of America (Alcoa) in the acquisition of a Hungarian enterprise, and installation of top class environment, health and safety procedures is described.

Foreign-owned companies' entry and location strategies in a U.S. market: a study of manufacturing firms in North Carolina

Article Abstract:

A better understanding of the strategies of global markets is important to the survival and growth of various firms operating across national borders. In conclusion, these companies use a contingency approach in selecting locations and entry channels in one U.S. market, the State of North Carolina, based on the business climate of the location.
