Public endeavours

Article Abstract:

The Royal Society of Arts (RSA) has been bestowing awards for its Art for Architecture scheme. It endeavours to support projects that try to combine art in public building construction. The RSA is particularly supportive of construction projects which use artists' creative abilities in design. A collaboration between Muf Architects and artist Katherine Graham lead to a book on the social aspects of development in urban areas. The RSA was against supporting the designs of Hackney Community College, England, but changed their minds after seeing the level of input by artist Susanna Heron.
