RAJSHREE SUGARS PUTS VIETNAM PROJECT ON THE BACKBURNER
Article Abstract:
Rajshree Sugars and Chemicals Ltd (RCSL) has shelved its plans of setting up a 2,500 tcd (tonnes crushed per day) sugar plant in Vietnam following the recession in South- East Asia. The consortium of financial institutions and banks in South-East Asia with which RCSL had tied up for loans are facing financial crisis. RCSL is now seeking a suitable joint venture partner for reviving its Vietnam project. It made a net profit of Rs1.32 crore on net sales of Rs56.04 crore in the first half of 1997-98. (gs)

The Rs20 crore commercial paper programme of the Rajasthan State Mines & Minerals Ltd (RSMM) has secured a PR1+ rating from Credit Analysis and Research Ltd (CARE). The rating has been given after considering the fact that RSMM is the biggest rock phosphate producer. RSMM is also India's only producer of high grade phosphatic ore. It contributes 79 percent to India's total rock phosphate production. (ag)(psr)
