RINL ANCILLARIES DO WELL

Article Abstract:

The ancillaries of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) have been seeing a steady increase in business, at an estimated Rs20 crore in 1998-99 against Rs17 crore in 1997-98. RINL, which has about 220 ancillaries, sources about 100 items including refractories, castings, guide rollers, fasteners and wire rope ceilings from them. It also supplies raw materials to its ancillaries in order to reduce their working capital requirements. (khr)

LAFARGE IN PACT WITH TATA STEEL FOR SLAG SUPPLY

Article Abstract:

Lafarge has entered into a long-term slag supply agreement with Tata Steel. Under the agreement, Tata Steel will supply slag from its plant at Jamshedpur to Lafarge. Lafarge of France has recently acquired the cement division of Tata Steel for Rs550 crore. (um)(vr)
