Reefer stopped from landing redfish hauls

Article Abstract:

Sunny Jane, a Belize registered reefer vessel was denied permission to land illegal, unreported and unregulated red fish catch in the Netherlands. A German company had chartered the vessel at the time when the notice was served on it. Part of the catch was from Russian operated trawlers registered under Dominican Republic. Though Belize has applied for Co-operating non-Contracting Party Status of North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission, Dominican Republic has not.

Chagos islands patrols arresting poachers

Article Abstract:

Two longliners, i.e., Indonesian registered 'Wish Me Luck 168' and Mauritius registered 'Park Hill No.3' were fined for illegal fishing of big eye and yellowfin tuna in the British Indian Ocean Territories near Chagos islands. The poaching monitoring system is described, and the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office's willingness to grant license on for fishing on payment of appropriate fee is also mentioned.
