Revenue rises at Reuters, but skeptics pummel stock

Article Abstract:

Reuters Group PLC's share value fell by 7.6% as a result of its trading statement for the first-quarter of 1999. Stockholders were not convinced by the company's apparently strong revenue figures. For the period, Reuters posted 771 million pound sterling ($1.24 billion) in revenues. This approximately matched what analysts had predicted. The revenues were approximately 8% higher compared to the same period in 1998.
