Further EU Commission probe into Vivendi-Seagram is likely

Ruling on Microsoft may come too late: EU's antitrust decision isn't targeted directly at new operating systems

A European Union ruling affecting Microsoft Corp.'s integration of software into its operating systems may not curb the company's competitive advantage, as is the goal. The ruling targets older products and past practices, leaving Microsoft free to pursue invasions of other markets such as Internet searching and home entertainment.
