Shri Shakti LPG Ltd is India's largest private sector liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) company with over 3 lakh connections. Its LPG sales has increased from 25,014 tonnes in 1996-97 to 36,209 tonnes in 1997-98. It has failed to achieve its projections set for 1997-98. It had projected net sales of Rs24,420 lakh for 1997- 98 (actual net sales was Rs7,129.04 lakh for 1997-98). The projection for profit before interest and deprecation was Rs4,578 lakh (Rs1,556.34 lakh). Net profit was projected at Rs2,947 lakh (Rs314.39 lakh). SHRI SHAKTI LPG NETS Rs3.14 CR IN PROFITS FOR FY

Article Abstract:

Shri Shakti LPG Limited has posted a turnaround by recording a net profit of Rs3.14 crore on a total income of Rs71.29 crore in 1997-98. In 1996-97, the company had incurred a loss of Rs92.97 lakh on an income of Rs47.29 crore. The total expenditure of the company amounted to Rs55.62 crore in 1997-98 (Rs39.81 crore in 1996-97), interest provision stood at Rs5.69 crore resulting in a gross profit of Rs9.97 crore. The provision for depreciation was Rs6.46 crore and taxation at Rs36.88 lakh. (gsh)

SHRI SHAKTI LPG NETS Rs1.40 CR Q3 PROFIT

Article Abstract:

Shri Shakti LPG posted a net profit of Rs1.40 crore for the third quarter ended December 1998. Its posted sales of Rs21.24 crore. Its expenditure amounted to Rs16.20 crore. Interest charges were at Rs1.86 crore while gross profit was at Rs3.18 crore. The increased expenditure is attributed to firming up of international prices of LPG. (um)(vr)
