KARNATAKA BANK's NET PROFIT RISES 43%

Article Abstract:

Karnataka Bank Ltd of Mangalore, which is celebrating its platinum jubilee, has posted a 43 percent rise in its net profit to Rs58.16 crore in 1997-98 (Rs40.71 crore in 1996-97). Its gross profit was Rs102.09 crore. Deposits increased by 36 percent to Rs3,408.35 crore (Rs2,510.59 crore). Advances increased by 26 percent to Rs1,818.29 crore. Foreign exchange turnover rose by 27 percent to Rs2,430.86 crore. Its disbursements increased by 43 percent to Rs1,610.43 crore. (gs)

KARNATAKA BANK PROFIT UP

Article Abstract:

Karnataka Bank has posted a net profit of Rs41.85 crore for the nine months ended December 1998. Its deposits increased by 28 percent to Rs3659.96 crore while advances grew by 17 percent to Rs1814.48 crore. The bank's investments increased by 24.79 percent to Rs1633 crore. It has declared earnings per share of Rs41.33. (khr)
