Refrasil (Trinec, Czech Republic), fireclay brick manufacturer, will modernise its production in 1998. The main goal of the modernisation is the regulation of the supplies and burning of gas in the firm's tunnel furnace, intended for the burning of fireclay bricks. The costs on the new regulation system are 1 mil Kc and should recover within a year. The firm will decrease its consumption of heating coking gas by nearly 15% and will increase the quality of its brick production due to the new regulation system.

Czech Republic: According to the calculation of the agency IP Praha (Prague, Czech Republic), firms spent 12.32 bil Kc on advertising in the Czech Republic in 1998. The sum was nearly 11% higher compared to 1997. Television advertising got to the first position before press advertising in 1998. About 43.02% of the total proceeds for advertising were represented by television advertising, 40.58% by press advertising and 7.71% by billboard advertising in 1998.
