SONY STRATEGY TO INCREASE MARKET SHARE IN INDIA

Sony India Ltd plans to raise its market share in different product categories in India. It is to launch the Trinitron Wega series, the next generation flat display television, in India in 1999. The Wega series has a memory stick which is an integrated chip offering cross-compatibility with home appliances, personal computers and audio-visual systems. It also plans to raise its earnings in southern India. Now, it makes 27 percent of its earnings from southern India. (ag/kvr)

COCA-COLA MAY INCREASE INVESTMENT AT BIDADI PLANT

Coca-Cola is likely to raise its investment in the proposed bottling facility at Bidadi, near Bangalore, from Rs50 crore to Rs116.50 crore. It has submitted a proposal to the Government of Karnataka on this issue. The new unit will bottle 11 million cases per year. The unit is expected to serve Kerala's needs also.
