CLASSIC MUSHROOMS FACES TROUBLE, STOPS PRODUCTION

Article Abstract:

Classic Mushrooms Ltd (CML), a 100 percent export-oriented unit located near Vizianagaram, has stopped its mushroom production from November 1997. CML had to stop production as the bankers have failed to release the term and working capital loans. It had earlier conducted trial production for 6 months. CML is now awaiting the release of these loans. The problems cropped up when the Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI), which had re- appraised the second phase and set aside Rs7.50 crore, sanctioned Rs2.87 crore only. CML was also supposed to get Rs1.24 crore from the State Bank of India, Rs1.14 crore from the Bank of Maharashtra and the rest from the promoters. (ag)
