STRONG POTENTIAL

Article Abstract:

Insilco, which manufactures silica, has cornered almost 70 percent of the domestic market. Degussa AG (DAG), the German partner of the company, has decided to increase its stake to 68 percent. Insilco will continue to remain as a joint venture firm of German promoters and Ajay Bhartia Group. DAG will buy out the 34 percent stake of the Indian co-promoter Mr Ajay Bhartia to have a controlling stake of 68 percent in the firm. The company is likely to raise its capacity by 15,000 tonnes at its plant. It has posted net profit of over Rs3 crore in the first nine months of 1998-99. It has projected a sales turnover of Rs52 crore for 1998-99. Its net profit is likely to touch Rs4.40 crore. (gs)(psr)

AGARWAL RUBBER PRIVATE LTD

Article Abstract:

Agarwal Rubber Pvt Ltd of Hyderabad, a manufacturer of automotive tubes, won a special Export Award - Non-Tyre Sector 1997-98, for excellence in exports of automotive tubes from the All India Rubber Industries Association. It currently exports automobile pneumatic inner tubes to the UK, South Africa, North America, South America and the Middle East among others. It has a capacity to manufacture about 8 lakh tubes per annum. It also produces different sizes of curing bags which are used in tyre re- treading. (khr)
