Sandcastles in the air

Article Abstract:

A new futures, commodity and stock exchange is planned for Abu Dhabi, and The Emirates Global Capital Corporation has raised most of the funds needed for this project. The idea is to fill a gap that exists in the time zone, and that large amounts are raised from commodity trading in the Gulf region. The government has a large portfolio with a value of over $100 billion, and fund managers and banks will be favored if they use the new financial center. There will be competition from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia as well as Bubai and Bahrain within the Gulf.
