Scor credit ratings are pared

Scor S.A.'s credit ratings were lowered to triple-B-plus from single-A-minus by Standard and Poor's. The reinsurance firm said it would attempt to raise capital by spinning off its life reinsurance business.

Scor first-half profit doubled on lower costs and provisions

Article Abstract:

Scor S.A.'s net profits doubled during the 2003 first half period. The company, which was helped by lower costs and provisions, posted 42 million euros ($45.7 million) in net profits for the period.
