Seagate AIT Drive Chosen By Artecon

Article Abstract:

Artecon has selected Seagate Technology's Seagate Sidewinder 50 AIT tape drive in the Asia-Pacific region. The Sidewinder 50 drive will be combined into Artecon's SuperFlex AIT TapeArray. The new SuperFlex AIT TapeArray will house the Sidewinder drives in a fault-tolerant, high-performance tape solution for Windows NT, HP-UNIX, Netware and Solaris. The 7-drive SuperFlex AIT TapeArray will include the following features: - over 350GB of compressed backup capacity - throughput up to 144GB per hour - Advanced Metal Evaporated media - unique cassette memory - a compact form factor

QAD, HP And STCS In Strategic Alliance

Article Abstract:

A joint alliance has been formed in Singapore between QAD, Hewlett-Packard (HP) and ST Computer Systems & Services Ltd (STCS). Under the deal, the three companies will offer the new optimised and bundled QAD/HP Performance PaQ ERP solutions. The QAD/HP Performance PaQ solutions includes advanced hardware and software components, to ensure rapid implementation and high performance. The solutions are targeted at the mid-market manufacturers like the industrial, electronics and automotive manufacturers.

Seagate Increases Investment in Shenzhen

Article Abstract:

A new investment strategy has been adopted by Seagate Technology, where it will increase its joint venture investment with China Electronics Corporation in Shenzhen, China. The US$ 122 mn investment will follow over the next three to five years and involve the procurement of new production equipment. Seagate's Shenzhen venture is one of its most productive/efficient manufacturing facilities. The facility has shipped more than 16 mn disc drives and includes a staff strength of around 1,700.
