Article Abstract:

The 'Collected' exhibition at the Photographers' Gallery and other London, UK venues provides different views of collecting and collections. The work of seven artists/photographers is on show, including Mo Wilson and Ming de Nasty portraits of Walsall-based collectors. Christian Boltanski's exhibit takes the form of an inventory, with a dossier of tiny photographs. Richard Wentworth has provided a collection of Egyptian drinking vessels from the British Museum's collection, as well as modern drinks containers.

Article Abstract:

The most thought-provoking speaker at the 'En Route: Transport, Technology and Sense of Place' conference held on Jul 13, 1999, at the Hilton National Hotel, Stansted Airport, England, was Martin Pawley. He considered the significant traffic and public transport problems in London, England, and also looked at the impact of 'short-wave technologies' on transport. Other speakers looked at issues including the increasing resemblance of airports to retail malls.

Le Corbusier: the sculptural collaboration with Savina

Article Abstract:

An exhibition of the scupltural work created by a collaboration between famed architect, Le Corbusier, and Breton furniture maker, Joseph Savina, is discussed. The two artists, collectively known as Fondation Le Corbusier, created ten sculptures, which are on display at the Leeds City Art Gallery in England until April 29, 2001.
