Helping Orefi to grow internationally

Article Abstract:

It is worth considering some of the features of the FFr740 million buyout of French distributor of industrial supplies Orefi by PPM Ventures in 1998. It was necessary for PPM to become involved in an organized auction, presenting itself to both the selling majority shareholder and Orefi CEO Marcel Sengelin and his management team. PPM succeeded in convincing both sides of its commitment as a long-term investor. Furthermore, the funding structure it put together contained additional features which would assist in the financing of future purchases.
