Article Abstract:

Spanish based telecoms company Interoute Telecomunicaciones, which began activity under the name Vias de Comunicacion operating in the fax and telex businesses, plans to bid for a basic telephony license. The company has a node in Madrid which is connected to London, Lisbon and Barcelona, and it provides voice services to small businesses and carrier to carrier services to operators. Interoute is working on an "iberolink" type product and is interconnected with the Interoute group in Portugal. The company is said to be making plans for its network with the Mediterranean area a possibly target in a first phase. By the end of 1999, the aim is to have 14 points throughout Spain. Interoute's main exchanges will be provide by Ericsson. Although an exact investment amount is not yet known as much will depend on the terms of the license, Interoute could invest over Pta 10,000mn in a three-year period.

Lanueva Xey fusionada con Grumal ampliara capital en 5,000 millones

Article Abstract:

The merger between the Spanish companies Xey and Grumal, active in the production of kitchen furniture, would carry out a Pta 5,094mn capital increase in order to strengthen the leadership of GMU (chief company of the new group) in Spain. The Guipuzcoa-based company expects to face the European concurrence with a turnover of Pta 9,000mn in 1998. Xey will specialise in the manufacture of furniture, which components will be provided by Grumal. The company could decide to increase the number of shareholders through a public sale offer.
