Shares of Waste Management fall 37% on forecast

Article Abstract:

Waste Management Inc. saw its share value drop by 37% following the company's negative forecast for its earnings in the second-quarter of 1999. Waste Management, a pollution control giant, is expecting to post 67 US cents to 70 US cents per share in earnings for the period. This does not include merger-related costs. During the same period in 1998, Waste Management posted earnings of 41 cents per share.

Phelps Dodge says loss will be wider than forecast

Phelps Dodge Corp. is forecasting a higher-than-expected loss for the 2001 second-quarter. The company expects to post a $1.38 to $1.48 (1.60 euros to 1.72 euros) per share, one-time items loss for the period.

Oakley shares fall to 52-week low on weak forecast

Oakley Inc. saw its share value fall by 34% after the firm reduced its profit forecasts for the rest of the 2001 year. The drop in share value was a 52-week low.
