Silicon Valley (East)

Article Abstract:

The computer industry in Taiwan holds a large stake in the industry world wide, though the Taiwanese companies themselves may not be well-known. The Hsinchu Science Park accounts for much of Taiwan's production and lacks space for further development, so a new park is being built in the south of Taiwan. Many Taiwanese students travel to the US and are employed in Silicon Valley before returning, Taiwan has also become involved in producing parts for PCs as they became a commoditised industry.
