Article Abstract:

A review of the current state of simulations technology is presented. Hardware systems considerations are discussed, and modeling software packages are evaluated. An assessment of the technical capability of simulations technology users is also made. Some requirements for simulations technology to advance are suggested, but the conclusion is that a conceptual breakthrough is not yet available.
