Simultaneous Lot Sizing and Capacity Planning in Multi-Stage Assembly Processes

Article Abstract:

This research focuses on exploring alternatives to the capacity planning problem. This research does not consider capacity planning as a separate module but incorporates it in the material requirements planning (MRP) lot sizing process. Cost modification methodology is expanded to include capacity constraint impacts at various points of lot-sizing decisions. This furnishes lot-sizing and capacity requirements planning inside a standardized top-down MRP logic. Substantial savings can be had by the incorporation of such capacity data into the lot-size decision-making scheme. Tables of related cost data, infinite horizon experiment data and optional integer solutions are included. Findings agree with research on unconstrained situations.

Possibility zones, resource mobilization, and attrition processes

Article Abstract:

Modeled combat behaviour modelling of possibility and impossibility zones are evaluated. Possibility zones are sets of values permitting the iterative generation of computer-stable values while impossibility zones are areas where such stable values cannot be obtained. Factors that affect zone sizes are recruitment pool size, area fire level, aimed fire level and insurgent force recruitment.
