Management experts don't get it

Article Abstract:

Asia's successful companies have competitive strengths conventional management experts do not perceive, such as flexibility and compartmentalized risk. The expansive structures of these businesses pursues local and then regional control of distribution. Leadership by a strong, charismatic personality helps to avoid bureaucracy by centralizing strategic decisions about investments but distributing operational decisions. An informal, people-oriented environment rewards those who seek long-term relationships.

Think big

Article Abstract:

California-based Gary Hamel believes that proactive individuals with significant foresight shall be the management leaders of the future. He emphasizes that such was the case with the Body Shop, Swatch, Microsoft and most of the entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley who had the gumption to go after what they wanted. Hamel points out that creativity and innovation are extremely important in the future information society.
