Singapore's aggressive marketing pitch has some in colony worried about impact on confidence

Article Abstract:

Singapore has launched an aggressive marketing campaign to bolster the country's position as an ideal business location for foreign companies. The country has run numerous television and print advertisements showing the quality of life in Singapore. Its aggressive marketing campaign has caused concern among many Hong Kong and Chinese officials, who believe that the colony's status as the prime business center in Asia could be jeopardized. Hong Kong's future remains uncertain because of questions about its political and economic stability after it is reunited to China in 1997.
