Production analysis in different time periods: an application of data envelopment analysis

Article Abstract:

The use of data envelopment analysis (DEA) for comparing the performances of organizations known as decision-making units across different time scales is explored. Specifically, a new efficiency concept called Overall Time Efficiency which consists of overall efficiency, price efficiency, scale efficiency and time efficiency is introduced. These are measured using DEA for two applications to production analysis, one of which involved the performance of Regional Bell Operating Companies in the US.
