The management strategy of British billionaire and steel industry mogul Lakshmi Mittal, and the family-run empire he has built through an aggressive acquisition policy, is discussed. The increased scrutiny of Mittal Steel by the public at large and the company's investors is also examined.

Arcelor to fortify steelmaking might with Turkish deal

Arcelor of Luxembourg is to increase it's stake to 41 percent in Ataer Holding A.S. of Turkey, the company that owns Eregli Iron & Steel Works Co. of Turkey. The $1 billion investment boosts the steel giants ranking to be the world's largest steel company.
