This article discusses the acquisition efforts of Deutsche Telekom in the United States and the opposition in the U.S. Senate. Deutsche Telekom's is negotiations for the takeover of Voicestream Wireless Communications has raised concerns in the Senate and the Federal Trade Commission because it is 58% owned by the German government.

Deutsche Telekom better be expecting a call from the FBI

The deregulation of the US telecommunication industry has resulted in FBI scrutiny of potential acquisitions involving US and foreign telecommunications companies. The latest company to come under FBI scrutiny is Deutsche Telekom in its bid for Voicestream Wireless Corp.
