Strong case for steel

Article Abstract:

Steel is likely to become even more popular in Britain as a building material for multi-floored buildings, following technological enhancements costing 50 million pounds sterling. Its current advantages of longer clear spans and speedy building times will be boosted by designs such as the fast track slimfloor and other environmentally-friendly improvements. Half of the worldwide steel products come from recycled metal. Recycling procedures take up less energy than steel production procedures using raw materials.
