Kuoni Travel's net fell by 96% in the first half

Kuoni Travel Holding Ltd. posted a decline of 96% in its earnings for the first-half of 1999. The company however, announced it would continue operating without any real problems from an unsuccessful merger bid with First Choice Holidays PLC. Swiss-based Kuoni posted 1.3 million Swiss francs (811,815 euros) in earnings for the first six months of 1999. During the same period in 1998, the company reported 33.4 million francs.
