Stanley Kubrick

Article Abstract:

Stanley Kubrick's movie '2001, A Space Odyssey' is visually pleasing, yet the language initially seems wooden until it is seen as an accurate portrayal of minimalist language used by space people in Houston. Kubrick was offered a job by Look magazine at the age of 17, and moved on from there to make documentaries with borrowed money. He later made feature films in Hollywood. His well-known movies include 'Lolita', 'A Clockwork Orange', and 'Dr Strangelove'. He completed the movie 'Eyes Wide Shut' shortly before his death.

He received the award of the Order of the Sacred Treasure which no other motion picture director had previously received. His brother worked as a silent movie narrator, and this allowed Kurosawa to visit the theater frequently with a free pass. His movie 'The Seven Samurai' was later turned into the western 'The Magnificent Seven', and his 'Yojimbo' became 'A Fistful of Dollars.'
