Stealing a share of Canadians' smiles

Article Abstract:

There are a broad variety of toothpaste products available in any drug store or supermarket. However, the $124.2-million Canadian toothpaste business is dominated by Colgate, which controls 39.7% of the market, and Crest, which controls 26.7% of the market. It has become increasingly difficult for many smaller toothpaste brands such as Aquafresh, Close-Up, Aim and Sensodyne to even get noticed. For these brands, survival means focusing on premium value-added products or doing their best to maintain existing niches.
