Article Abstract:

Company acquisitions should be carefully considered to ensure that they will satisfy the organisation's financial and strategic objectives. Value profiles should be applied to identify and measure key attribute values for management consideration. The implementation of the acquisition should be analysed and developed before the purchase is made. An unsuitable choice of acquisition or inappropriate post-acquisition management activity can be damaging to the acquiring company.

The Strategic Management of Corporate Value

Article Abstract:

There are four principal fields within strategic business finance (SBF), which connect innovations in accounting and finance to strategic management. These are strategic financial accounting, strategic management accounting, corporate financial strategy and strategic value management. The background of SBF might help academics and general managers to look more closely at the relationship between strategy and finance in a more productive way.

Strategic behaviour: the driving force of strategic management

Article Abstract:

A study of a key strategic team within British Telecom explores several models of strategic behaviour to determine their role and influence within strategy-making teams. It is shown that strategic management is concerned with strategic behaviour as well as strategic decision-making and strategic thinking. Practical guidelines for managing strategic behaviour are included.
