As J.P. Morgan Chase and Co. prepares to post its first earnings report since acquiring Bank One Corp., investors and analysts are eager to see if executive James Dimon is living up to expectations that he will be able to cut costs at the newly combined company. Dimon, formerly the head of Bank One, is to take over as the chief executive officer of J.P. Morgan in 2006.

Nissan's designs and sales are bold, but its stock stalls

Nissan Motor Company Ltd. reports increased sales in Europe, Japan and the United States, becoming a key brand. Sales were up 6.1 percent in January 2005 over the previous year, following a 24 percent increase in sales in 2004 overall.
