Striker II multi-sensor scout/recce vehicle

Article Abstract:

Systems & Electronics Inc. (SEI) will introduce the advanced Striker II at the Eurosatory exhibition in June 1998. A company-funded prototype of the vehicle uses a more comprehensive Warlord sensor suite mounted atop a telescopic mast but has the same M1025A2 HMMWV platform of the basic Striker. Striker II's baseline package also includes an AN/PPS-5C Manportable Surveillance and Target Acquisition Radar (MSTAR), a Cincinnati Electronics thermal imager and a Litton Laser Systems Mini Eyesafe Laser Infrared Observation Set (MELIOS).

Stealthy PANTERA seeks out new markets

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin Electronics and Missiles has launched its Precision Attack Navigation and Targeting with Extended Range Acquisition Airborne (PANTERA) pod. The export version of the Sniper design offers long-range identification, automatic tracking and laser designation of ground targets, and passive detection and tracking of airborne platforms. The system uses a third-generation forward-looking infrared set and can accomodate a rangefinder based on an eyesafe diode-pumping laser.

Displays slim dow for vehicle use

Article Abstract:

Barco Display Systems has launched a new product that consists of a control module, a human-machine interface software and rugged flat panel displays. The Vector observation and visualization display system has a split design that makes it simpler to integrate its components into consoles or vehicles. Imagery, tactical information and digitized maps can be seen from two different observation sensors, namely, infrared and TV.
