Sun care

Article Abstract:

The UK market for sun care products rose by 2.1% in value in 1996 from 1995 to 149.5 million pounds sterling. The market has been mainly boosted by growing awareness about the dangers of excessive exposure of unprotected skin to the sun. The largest sector of the market is sun screen, which accounted for 84.4% of the market by value in 1996. However, the most rapid growth was seen in the artificial tanning sector, which expanded by 4.3%. There has also been a strong rise in demand for products with a sun protection factor of 15 or more.
