Swiss insurer to spin off real estate

Article Abstract:

Zurich Financial Services said that it is spinning off commercial property into a new firm that will be called PSP Swiss Property AG. The property is valued at approximately one billion Swiss francs (629 million euros). Zurich Financial will list the new company on the Swiss Exchange. Chairman Rolf Hueppi said that his firm is attempting to take advantage of the rejuvenation of the real estate market in Switzerland.

Lazard expands presence as Swiss M&A adviser: firm aims to gain on investment banks in European ranking

Financial services mergers and acquisitions adviser Lazard Ltd. is strengthening its presence in Europe, opening an office in Switzerland. Lazard ranked 14th in 2006 for Swiss merger-and-acquisition deals, and ranks sixth so far in 2007. Its market share has reached 12.1%.

Credit Suisse is latest in trend of moves to U.K

Credit Suisse Group will move its capital markets business management to the UK following Eric Varvel's promotion to the company's European chief executive officer. Varvel will be relocating from New York to London.
