Telefonica looks to shed Endemol unit

Article Abstract:

Telefonica S.A. is selling its 75% stake in Dutch entertainment business Endemol Entertainment N.V. seven years after acquiring it for 5.5 bil euro. Initial offers, however, are anticipated to set the unit's value at approximately 3 bil euro, substantially lower than the original purchase price.

Icahn to push Time Warner to sell assets

Article Abstract:

Carl Icahn, New York financier is planning on organizing an investor group to pressure Time Warner Inc. to sell shares in its cable television company and possibly divest its publishing arm. Time Warner Inc. posted a $5 billion stock buyback plan last week but is planning even more leverage.
