Telinfo cro tra/

Article Abstract:

The board of directors of SNCB has just okayed an operation through which Mobistar will rent its optical fibre network. The Belgian telecoms group Telinfo, which controls 10% of Mobistar, announced that the mobile telephone operator would get a 'lead manager' in the end of June 1998, before floating in the Fall of 1998. Telinfo, which posted a turnover of BFr 7.74bn in 1997 (up 17% over 1996) expects to increase this by 10-15% in 1998. The net profit should go up 25% compared to the BFr 282mn it posted in 1997 (up 28% compared to 1996). The forecast in turnover does not include the five acquisitions that Telinfo expects to perform by 31 December 1998 in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Spain and the UK.

Le TGV rejoindra l'Allemagne par l'interm diaire d'un site propre

Article Abstract:

In Belgium, the TGV high speed train link between Li ge and the Germany border will be via a transport system with its own right of way via a tunnel at Soumagne. This solution was chosen over improving an existing line because the work can be carried out quickly and finished in 2005 compared with 2010 or 2012 for the other project. It will cost BFr 23bn to dig the tunnel compared with BFr 16bn to renovate line 37. As part of the TGV financing, BFr 10bn worth of preference shares for Belgian and/or foreign investors will be issued during 1998.
