Terminal Two opens in Dubai

Article Abstract:

Dubai International Airport has begun operating its Terminal 2 facility, which is part of a $540 million expansion project for the airport. The terminal, which will be employed initially by 24 airlines, has the capacity for annual load of 2.5 million passengers with its five boarding gates. The operation of the one-level facility is expected to ease traffic in Terminal 1, thus reducing congestion and easing transit. The terminal offers 22 check-in counters that will handle a total of 500 departures per hour.
